Family: Adiantaceae

Description:

Plant terrestrial or lithophytic, 20-45cm tall. Rhizome short, erect or ascending with a dense tuft of clustered fronds. The rhizome is covered with linear/lanceolate shining brown scales.

It is found is China, Japan and throughout South East Asia. Most commonly on humus rich grounds in open forests.

The whole plant is used is Chinese Traditional Medicine and it is also an indicator of soil acidity.
