Description:

The Deep-water Red Snapper is mainly pink to red, becoming white on the lower sides and belly. The dorsal and anal fins are without scales. Can grow up to a length of 127 cm. Lives in rocky bottoms. Preys on fishes and larger invertebrates such as squids, shrimps and crabs. Highly commercialized for human consumption.
