Description:

The Five-lined Snapper are generally bright yellow, including fins, with a series of blue stripes on the side. There is also a round black spot located below the anterior most soft dorsal rays, and is about the size of the eye or larger. Can grow up to a length of 38 cm. Lives in sheltered lagoons and exposed, outer slope coral reefs. Preys on fishes and crustaceans. Commercialized for human use.
