English Name: Pacific Reef Heron

Chinese Name: 岩鷺

Family: Ardeidae

Description:

This medium-sized  heron (58-66 cm) has two color morphs: dark and white. The dark morph is all dark grey with a white chin and throat line. The white morph (very rare in Macao) is all white. The both morphs have black-yellow bill and greenish-yellow legs. This species is a Macao resident, found in mudflats and rocky coasts.
