Description:

This is a semi-aquatic mammal found in freshwater habitats across Europe, Asia, and parts of North Africa. It has a streamlined body, webbed feet, and dense, waterproof fur, which makes it an excellent swimmer. The Eurasian otter primarily feeds on fish but also consumes amphibians, crustaceans, and small mammals. It is a solitary and nocturnal animal, often seen near rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. Conservation efforts have been necessary to protect this species due to habitat loss and pollution.
