Description:
This is a medium-sized bat species found in South and Southeast Asia. It has yellowish or brownish fur and a robust body with a wingspan of about 25–30 cm. This species inhabits forests, agricultural areas, and urban environments, often roosting in buildings, tree hollows, and caves. It is nocturnal and feeds on flying insects, using echolocation to hunt. The lesser Asiatic yellow bat plays a role in controlling insect populations.
