Description:

This anchovy is belly rounded with 3 to 6 sharp needle-like pre-pelvic scutes. Its anal fin is short and originates behind base of last dorsal fin ray. Can grow up to a length of 13 cm. Lives inshore and in oceanic waters. Minor commercialized for human and used as bait for tuna.
