Description:
This is a small, cryptic marine mammal found in coastal waters, including bays, estuaries, and mangrove swamps. It is characterized by the absence of a dorsal fin and a smooth, rounded back, it prefers shallow waters with sandy or soft bottoms and feeds on small fish, cephalopods, and crustaceans. Seasonal fluctuations in population density have been observed, with higher numbers in certain regions during winter and spring. Breeding and feeding areas have been identified in locations such as Kuching Bay, Malaysia.
