Description:

Tang’s Snapper has long pectoral fins that reach beyond level of anus.  The maxilla and dorsal and anal fins are without scales. These snappers have large mouth, in the case of adults it is thick and has a fleshy protrusion at the anterior end of the upper lip. Can grow up to a length of 50 cm. Lives in rocky bottoms of the continental shelf. Preys on fishes and large invertebrates. Commercialized for human use.
