Description:

The Two-spot Red Snapper has a pointed snout with a deep groove or pit that runs from the nostrils to the front of the eye. Young and some adults have two silvery-white spots on back. Adults are mostly plain red. Can grow up to a length of 90 cm. Lives in coral reefs, including sheltered lagoons and outer reefs. Preys on fishes, shrimps, crabs, amphipods, stomatopods, gastropods and urochordates. Commercialized for human use.
